HISTORY and LEGACY
CFMOTO was founded in 1989 as an engine manufacturer and quickly transitioned to engineering and building its own engines. It has always held a significant presence in China’s domestic market including supplying government vehicles for police and fire while developing a name for itself as a manufacturer of reliable, feature-rich engines, parts, ATVs, side-by-sides, scooters, and motorcycles worldwide.
CFMOTO brought ATVs and SXS to the US in 2002 and offered select scooters and motorcycles in the US in the 2000s. 2007 marked the establishment of CFMOTO USA’s headquarters in Plymouth, MN and since then, CFMOTO USA has worked alongside CFMOTO’s corporate headquarters in China to develop and improve their vehicle lines for the American market. In this time CFMOTO has solidified itself as a competitive force in the US off road market with over 570 off road dealers to date and big plans for future model development.
In April of 2022 CFMOTO USA was proud to launch a new line of 7 motorcycles to the US market and added an additional 3 models for 2023. Many of these models have already solidified their global presence alongside in Europe, Australia, and Asia. CFMOTO now has more than 300 dealerships and counting nationwide that carry their two-wheel product.
CFMOTO USA’s headquarters features full sales, marketing, vehicle development, design, parts and accessories, tech support, and domestic shipping and receiving departments. Since 2007 CFMOTO USA has more than doubled the footprint at its current facility and is now building a brand-new US headquarters down the road to support the company’s future ventures. CFMOTO vehicle lines are currently manufactured in Thailand and China alongside other major global motorsports names, with plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Mexico in 2024.
